Not 99.4. He Wanted 100. Neehar Lohade's Perfect Score and the Story Behind It

Most students who score 99.4% in their CBSE Grade 10 Board Examinations would call it a triumph and move on. Neehar Lohade did not. He looked at that result, felt a quiet pull toward something more, and within two days had made up his mind — he was going to sit the exam again. Not out of disappointment. Not because anyone pushed him. Simply because maths is his favourite subject, and he wanted a perfect score in it.

He got it. A 100%. And with it, Neehar Lohade became one of the standout achievers of Yashaswi 2026 — Elpro International School Chinchwad's celebration of its finest Board performers.

The Decision Nobody Expected Him to Make

When his 99.4% result came in, Neehar's family already knew which paper had cost him three marks. "Neehar always knew his score — whichever paper he gives, he tells us exactly what he's going to get," his mother recalls. "At the time of 99.4, we were knowing that he was going to lose three marks in maths. He had told us."

For a day or two, Neehar sat with the result. Then the thought began to take shape.

"After a day or two, the thought began to come into my mind — okay, maybe I should try for the 100%. I shouldn't just leave it here. If I have the opportunity to make it a perfect score, then why not?"

— Neehar Lohade, CBSE Grade 10, EIS Chinchwad

People around him were surprised. Many questioned the decision — why give the exam again for three marks when you've already scored so well? Neehar's answer was simple and unwavering: "Maths is my favourite subject and I wanted the perfect score in it particularly. I didn't let other people's opinions reflect in my decision. I just went ahead with what I felt was right."

A Family That Believed Before the Result Did

If Neehar was calm going into the re-attempt, his family was right there with him. "The atmosphere was chill," his mother says. "He was pretty sure, and we were happy. We were just waiting to see it on that screen — on that mark sheet. But we knew it."

So certain were they that the family decided not to wait for the result to celebrate. They headed to his grandparents' place and partied before the scores were even announced. When Anjali Ma'am — Neehar's class teacher — called to say the results were out, the celebration had already begun.

"When he said 100%, that was an amazing wow moment for us," his mother shares. "What we believed — that has had actually come. It was party time."

The Teachers Who Made the Difference

Ask Neehar what made the difference, and he points immediately to his teachers at Elpro.

"All the teachers at Elpro are really kind and motivating. Whenever I would talk to any teacher, I would only get the thought that — for all these teachers, I want to do something big. I want to score big at the boards."

— Neehar Lohade

He reserves special credit for Anjali Ma'am, his class teacher, who consistently helped him refine not just his answers but the way he wrote them. His parents echo this warmly — noting that teachers across subjects, including those from previous years, were always reachable, always responsive, and always genuinely invested. "Whenever he had a doubt, till the last moment, the last minute — he could message them and they would answer immediately," his mother says. "They were always like — whatever you want to ask, we are there for you."

More Than Academics

Neehar is quick to point out that Elpro shaped more than his exam scores. Regular sports sessions, exposure to diverse cultures, and a school environment that genuinely valued co-curricular life gave him a broader sense of the world. "I learned a lot about different cultures and the true meaning of secularism," he reflects.

His parents, who have been with Elpro since Neehar's first standard, say the decision to choose the school was never one they second-guessed. "We felt that this is the school that could give what we were looking for — not only academics but also focus on co-curricular activities. It was never turning back." So trusted is their experience that their younger child — now in Grade 1 — is also enrolled at Elpro.

A Moment of Pride for the Entire Elpro Family

Neehar's achievement is a proud moment for the entire Elpro family. It reflects the commitment of our students, the dedication of our faculty, and the culture of meaningful learning that we nurture every day at EIS Chinchwad.
