Angela ffrench

Angela ffrench is an education professional with over 40 years of rich and wide ranging experience in both the state and private sectors. She has a Master of Education in Educational Assessment, Testing and Measurement from the University of Bristol, an MA in Educational Assessment from the University of Cambridge, a Certificate in Education, and a Diploma in TEFL (RSA). Angela began her educational journey as a teacher of Physical Education within the UK state sector, specialising in dance and athletics. After a period teaching in a UK secondary school she further trained as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and continued teaching EFL to young adults in the private sector for 10 years. Following the birth of her first two children, Angela took a break from full-time teaching and, between running Easter and Summer Language Schools for teenagers, as Principal, she wrote and illustrated a comprehensive manual on designing knitwear for exotic yarns, for which she designed and produced the example garments. In 1992, Angela joined Cambridge English Language Assessment. In the following 21 years she was involved in all aspects of assessment at CEFR Levels pre-A1 to C2 in the areas of General, Business and Academic English, covering the four skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. She was responsible for the management of production of question papers, maintaining marking standards, and grading for Cambridge Main Suite examinations, Cambridge Young Learner English tests and IELTS. She was also closely involved with the Research and Development Department at Cambridge English, taking a leading role in such things as the revisions of examinations and also of assessment criteria for both Writing and Speaking. During this period Angela initiated extensive research into the most efficient systems for carrying out oral language interviews leading to the currently used procedure for paired interviews, which reduces personality bias and elicits greater language structures from often 'reticent' but otherwise capable students. More recently, and with greater confidence in machine learning, she has turned her attention to the automated assessment of speaking and writing, working closely with Carnegie Mellon University in the US. Her special interest in the testing of Speaking led to her being invited to contribute to the development of a set of exemplar performances illustrating the 6 levels of the CEFR for languages for the Centre International d�Etudes Pedagogues (CIEP) and in the production of a similar set of exemplar performance for the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). In 2012, Angela was posted to Chennai, India. As Director of Operations, S&SE Asia, she directed Cambridge English�s operations and offices in the region, which involved extensive engagement with educationalists at all levels of authority, from teachers to Ministers of Education. Since retiring from Cambridge English in 2016, Angela has been working closely with the Cambridge Malaysian Education and Development Trust (CMEDT) under the direction of Dr Michael Milanovic in the production of a ground-breaking and affordable solution to the learning and testing of English for learners of all ages.

David Charles Evans

Baron Evans of Watford (born 30 November 1942) is a British publisher, entrepreneur and philanthropist. As a Member of the House of Lords, he sits as a Labour peer and also holds a number of chairmanships that span across printing, business consultancy, charity and healthcare.

Following the sale of Centurion Press, Lord Evans founded Senate Publishing Ltd[3] with his business partner of 21 years, Caroline Minshell. Senate Publishing produces publishing and communication platforms for governments, major corporates and leading financial institutions.

Lord Evans was a Trustee of the Royal Air Force Museum[4] and is a Director of the Royal Air Force Museum Trading Company.[5] He also serves as chairman of the Institute of Collaborative Working.[6]

He currently serves as Senior Advisor to Ron Wahid, Chairman of Arcanum Global,[7] a global strategic intelligence company and a subsidiary of Magellan Investment Holdings.

Dr. Shuchi Grover

Dr. Shuchi Grover is Principal Research Scientist at Looking Glass Ventures and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. She was formerly a Senior Research Scientist at SRI (formerly Stanford Research Institute). Over the last 15 years she extensively studied teaching and learning in informal as well as formal K�12 settings using constructionist tools for computational learning. Her dissertation at Stanford University titled �Foundations for Advancing Computational Thinking� (CNS-1343227) resulted in a first-ofits- kind introductory CS course to teach middle school students the foundations of programming and computational thinking (CT).

Her interests and expertise span learning sciences, educational technologies, computational thinking, teacher professional development. Dr. Grover is the recipient of multiple National Science Foundation research awards in learning sciences, educational technology and computational thinking. Dr. Grover is an advisor to the United States national K-12 CS Framework development effort, a member of the Computer Science Teachers Association�s task forces on Computational Thinking and Assessments, and on the editorial board of ACM Transactions of Computing Education. Dr. Grover has a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences & Technology Design with a focus on K-12 CS Education (Stanford University), masters degrees in Education (Harvard University) and Computer Science (CWRU, Cleveland), and bachelors degrees in Computer Science and Physics (BITS Pilani, India).

Raymond Ravaglia

Raymond Ravaglia is Associate Dean and Director of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies at Stanford University (retired). During the 27 years he spent at Stanford University, he founded the Stanford Online High School, the first fully accredited online independent high school for gifted students, as well as Stanford's Education Program for Gifted Youth and the Stanford EPGY Summer Institutes. Active in the independent school community, Ravaglia serves on the board of the OESIS Group, the leading organization dedicated to independent school pedagogy.

He is the Vice Chairman of Dwight Global school and is a creator of the Malone Online Schools Network, a consortium of sixteen leading independent schools who share courses with each other online. Ravaglia is also a founding board member of iNacol, the international council for online learning. Ravaglia has spoken at national and international conferences on a broad array of topics related to independent schools, gifted education, and online education. In 2015, Ravaglia founded the pre-collegiate division of The School of The New York Times, of which he was the director. He is the author of two books and numerous articles. Dr. Sumer Singh

Dr. Sumer Singh was the Head of Daly College and Director Daly College Business School, Indore and Lawrence School, Sanawar and also served as Founder Director of the Asian School.Over the years he has served as Advisor Education in the Govt. of Punjab, as Chairman of the Indian Public Schools Conference, as Trustee and Advisory on the Executive of Round Square, UK and is currently serving on the Boards of World Leading Schools Association (WLSA), AFS India, Punjab Public School Nabha, Univariety and Indore Management Association. He is also an advisor to Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer and GCIS, Bangalore and Sai International Residential School, Bhubaneswar and a partner with GSD Schools, Spain for their Indian collaboration. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Literature in Education from De Montfort University, UK.
